Troop Information

While Boy Scouting in Huntley, IL dates back to the mid 1920's, it was in 1934 that Troop 167 became the first officially chartered BSA Troop to represent the community. Troop 167 has operated mostly continuously since then, with exceptions during World War II, and a couple of years in the late 1960's and early 1990's. It has been chartered by the American Legion Post #673, Trininty Luthern Church, and its current charter organization since 1992, the First Congregational Church of Huntley. The Troop has produced more than 60 Eagle Scouts during its tenure. In the early 1960's, the Troop adopted the slogan "Not the Biggest, Just the Best" and had it applied to the banner it carried in local parades and district Scouting events such as the annual Grant Pilgrimage.

Troop 167 is a member of the Sycamore District, Blackhawk Area Council. Founded in 1910, Boy Scouts of America is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with more than 2.3 million youth participants and 1 million adult volunteers. More than 110 million Americans have participated in BSA programs at some point in their lives.
